Driving Simulator

This project page was completed in 2019. Its presentation is under construction here and will be extended successively.

Enclosed a small foretaste.

Interdisciplinary teams of students, some of whom wrote their theses and some of whom participated in seminars and internships, were involved in the development.

Driving Environment

For the first driving tests, the initial challenge was to develop a speedometer that correctly displayed both the speed and the engine rpm on a tablet as a combination instrument (see. Figure 1).

The simulation has always been further developed. This led to the development of energy consumption feedback systems, with the help of which an entire dissertation on the topic of "Wirksamkeit von informationellen Triggern untersucht anhand von Energieverbrauchsfeedbacksystemen in Automobilen" was produced.

Field of Application

In addition to the research of socio-technical systems of business informatics, the simulator also serves new findings in the field of human computer interaction research.

In addition, the driving simulator enjoyed great popularity with young and old alike at the Open House on the Garching Campus in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Financing

The simulator was financed from expansion funds and was therefore independent of industry in research.
